It takes courage to commit to a healthier lifestyle out of love for your partner, so why not take it one step further and include your partner in your journey? Studies show that working with a partner can improve your performance, sometimes even doubling it! If you need some motivation to get moving, check out these workouts that are suitable for couples!
- Hook Squat
Stand back to back with your partner and hook your arms together before getting into the squat position. Because the both of you need to literally lean on each other, this exercise won’t work if one of you stops, which is a great way to keep the two of you going!
- Wheelbarrow Push-Up with Squat
For the wheelbarrow push-up, you first need to get into a push-up position and have your partner hold up your feet. When you lower yourself, your partner should also lower into a proper squatting position, and rise at the same time as you do.
- Push-Up High Five
Face each other while doing push-ups, and when you both finish one push-up, extend one of your arms towards each other for a high five! See how many high fives you can get before you tire out, and aim to beat that number the next session!
It may take a while to get a hang of these workouts, but every step you take with your partner is one step closer towards stronger bones and a stronger relationship! The most important thing is to communicate with your partner and give constant feedback to help each other improve. After all, a couple that sweats together, stays together!
