How it started
Osteoporosis* was increasingly becoming an issue in the 1990s due to an aging Asian population. Since milk isn’t a staple of the Asian diet, we generally consume less calcium. This means we’re more prone to bone health issues such as osteoporosis. Osteoporosis impacts our mobility which can cause a loss of independence affecting our confidence, and our general health and wellbeing
We wanted to make a difference, so we came together to design a high-quality product that contained the goodness of dairy, plus essential nutrients needed for healthy strong bones.
In 1991, we launched Anlene, our first fortified high-calcium milk. This product, together with our Bone Scan events, played an important role in educating people about the importance of maintaining good bone health so they can stay mobile and independent.

Since then, we’ve gone from focusing on bone health to offering a range of products that support a healthy, active lifestyle for adults of all ages.
